About LEAP DAY
The largest conference in the prefecture focused on collaborative education
LEAP DAY is a two-day event focused on education and human resource development.
Held annually in December in Okinawa, it brings together diverse participants—children and adults, students, teachers, parents, businesses, and government officials.
The venue features lectures and talk sessions fostering skills for navigating the future, presentations by students tackling regional and societal challenges with their own ideas and projects, and hands-on workshops for children.
Participants aim to learn from each other across different roles and deepen connections with their communities and society.
This event provides an opportunity to consider “how to live and nurture in an era without clear answers.”
“Collaborative Education” is LEAP DAY's unique concept, embodying the meaning of “nurturing through cooperation and collaboration.”
Children pose questions, adults relearn, and businesses, government, and communities collectively envision the future.
We value relationships where everyone grows together, transcending roles as teachers or learners to engage meaningfully with one another.
Not one-way “education,” but “kyōiku”—mutual learning through dialogue and practice.
Based on this philosophy, LEAP DAY strives to create spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to shape the future.
